eCampusAlberta launches re-designed website; new features simplify access for students and members

September 13, 2011

With the aim of improving the online experience for future students, current students and members, eCampusAlberta has developed a new website for 2011/12. The site was soft launched for testing and refinement in August and is being officially released today.

The new site features the latest news stories on the front page (including monthly program features), student videos and story pages, an events notice area, a re-organized programs page to make it easier to locate individual programs within areas of study and improved navigation to resources for students and future students.

A newly re-designed Members section features access to the latest research into providing services to diverse learners, as well as many other research projects supported by eCampusAlberta in partnership with member institutions over the past several years.

“We are pleased to invite people to visit our new website to enjoy the new features it contains. We believe the new site will offer an improved experience for future students looking for courses and programs and make it easier for members to access information about quality standards, current research projects, online curriculum funding, learner support services projects, digital marketing resources, as well as business and strategic plans and annual reports” says eCampusAlberta Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Paul Rescanski.

“During the past 12 months, our team has devoted a considerable amount of time and other resources to the website re-development project and we are excited to share our new website with future and current students, members and the public,” says eCampus Alberta Operations Manager, Jesal Odedra, who led the project through completion.

In addition to the new features mentioned above, the website also contains helpful information about becoming an online student, the first three installments of an online learning video series as well as front page access to the course catalogue and information about accessing exam invigilation services, fees, funding and other services.

eCampusAlberta’s new website was designed to meet the guidelines for accessibility established by the World Wide Web consortium (W3C), the organization widely considered the leading international authority on website design and displays W3C accessibility logos throughout.
