eCampusAlberta and the Community Learning Network (CLN) are working together to support community access facilitators. The two organizations formed a partnership in November 2011 that will see them work towards creating a shared repository of resources that will assist Community Access Point Coordinators and Community Adult Learning Councils in their work that supports rural learners. When Lakeland College and Red Deer College both submitted proposals to eCampusAlberta in 2010 to adapt their Parts Technician programs for distance delivery, an opportunity to collaborate was born. Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) will mark two notable firsts with eCampusAlberta this fall. One is to deliver the first French course on the eCampusAlberta roster. The college is also set to launch a new Active Aging Fitness Practitioner certificate program that will be the first of its kind in Canada. eCampusAlberta continues to achieve significant year-over-year growth, even as the organization looks towards its ninth anniversary this fall. The consortium recorded a total of 16,213 registrations for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, surpassing the previous year’s total of 13,107 by 24 per cent and reaching another all-time high. It was the seventh consecutive year of annual growth of 24 per cent or more. More
