eCampusAlberta has been committed to providing faculty, course designers and others involved in creating online courseware with resources that enable them to offer high quality online education to students and supporting them with the services they need to succeed.
The Quality Suite review process has included strategic analysis, surveys, stakeholder consultations, and a formal comparison of eCampusAlberta standards with close to 40 existing quality standards including the renowned Quality Matters program hosted by Maryland Online and Enterprise and Advanced Education’s CAQC standards.
The eCampusAlberta Quality Suite includes the Essential Quality Standards, Quality eRubric, Curricula Self-Assessment Scorecard.
Grounded in research and best practice, the Essential Quality Standards outline 27 requirements in seven categories — Web Design, Course Information, Organization, Pedagogy, Writing, Resources and Technology.
The Quality Standards 2.0 Booklet contains the complete set of quality standards. This rubric may be used to assess existing courses or those under development. It may also be used as a guide by faculty and online curriculum developers for planning purposes.
The eCampusAlberta Quality Suite includes a self-assessment that enables those involved in course development to conveniently assess course progress at any time.
