The Correctional Studies diploma consists of two years of study ranging from psychology and interpersonal communication to more specific focuses on correctional issues such as casework practices, law, report writing and conflict strategies. All courses are developed and taught by professionals in the field.
The program is designed specifically to prepare students for employment in the field, and to provide flexible professional development opportunities for correctional professionals. Prior learning credit may be awarded for work-related learning and training.
The entire Correctional Studies diploma is available online in addition to being taught on campus at Lethbridge College. The courses available through eCampusAlberta together with the remaining required courses can also be accessed through the Lethbridge College website. Graduates of the diploma program can enter directly into the third year of the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Justice Studies at Lethbridge College (also available entirely online or on campus).
